When Joseph Archuleta opened his own practice in Denver, Colorado in 1992, he had a vision for his new firm - a vision that no ordinary "sign" would ever match. That's why his decision to use a genuine cast bronze plaque for his entrance is one he's never regretted. The plaque has been making great first impressions since day-one.

Recessed Surfaces: Painted (dark brown)

Designer's Notes:

Although this is a fairly straightforward law firm identification plaque, the use of different letter sizes throughout the inscription varies the emphasis on each element. Interchangeable Nameplates were used to allow future changes to individual names. - Bart

When opening my private practice in 1992, I didn't have a lot of money. However, I knew how critical it was to make a great impression on clients and convey stability in my practice. In other words, my plaque had to say 'this guy's going to be here for awhile.'

That's why I chose the look of genuine cast bronze from Innovative Signs, and I'm so glad I did. It's an investment that's been paying off for well over 20 years, and will continue to do so.

There are certain times when a more reserved approach will be much more effective for your firm. For example, when daily exposure to your entrance is limited to foot traffic, and those people all pass fairly close to your plaque, a smaller size may actually make a bigger first impression.

All of the same rules apply, of course, such as having a balanced inscription and being sized and proportioned to comfortably fit your mounting space. Just be sure to take your overall setting into consideration when thinking about plaque size, and share your thoughts with our Design Team. We'll make sure all of these elements are factored into your final design.

After moving to the Ponce Inlet area, our customer noticed there wasn't a local veterans' memorial. So, he took it upon himself to organize its construction. With the enthusiastic support of the local community and veterans' groups, this beautiful memorial was constructed in the Kay & Ayres Davies Lighthouse Park, adjacent to the Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station.

We are well pleased with our plaque, and want to say thank you for all your cooperation and attention from start to finish. We are proud to honor our ancestor with this beautiful work of art.

Please express our thanks to those responsible for getting the job done on time. We would not hesitate to tell others of the integrity and craftsmanship to accomplish this impressive memorial to our ancestor, Isaac Willis, Company G, 73rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry, from the tiny village of Limerick, Ohio who is now resting in the National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Notice the soldier graphic actually has minimal details, yet your mind fills in the missing information. This special two-tone photographic technique (called Flat Relief) is a great way to maintain the accuracy of a photograph without getting into more costly photo-reproduction processes. While it isn't suitable for every image, most can be very successfully converted to meet the requirements of traditional sand casting. - Danielle

For your viewing I am attaching photos from the extensive memorial dedication ceremony in France where the memorial plaque for my father was dedicated by the French people of the two small villages where he died in 1944.

Please accept my sincere thanks for all you and your company did for me. From my simple layout suggestion, you applied wonderful imagination and design skills to produce the perfect memorial to my father. I was confident from the outset that the results would be good. They were outstanding. Everyone was quite impressed with the simple beauty of the memorial.

You did the work under great time constraints, and met every deadline you set for yourself, then you delivered the finished plaque a day early. While this was not an inexpensive undertaking for me, I believe the value received was exceptional. Everyone who has seen the plaque compliments you.

I can tell you I will be spreading the word to others in the American WWII Orphans Network that Innovative Signs is the place to go for military memorial plaques.

Thank you.

Bill Winters - Ormond Beach, Florida

[Nine years later, Bill wrote to us with the following update...]

I just wanted to let you know that your handiwork is still honoring my dad, still in very good condition, and still telling the story. I was fortunate to be able to visit the memorial in France last year and I can report the plaque still looks as good as it did 9 years ago. My friends visited the memorial yesterday, V/E Day, as they do every year, and placed flowers to dress it up in celebration. I am attaching the photo of the mayors of the two little villages who attended the annual ceremony.

Kind Regards
Bill Winters

Throughout high school, college, and his military career, 1st Lt Gentz set goals, pursued them relentessly, and fully achieved them - receiveing many honors and awards along the way.

His goal of becoming a Combat Rescue Officer, for example, required two years of grueling training, and turning down an offer of a pilot's slot.

It should be no surprise, then, that his Air Force ROTC Detachment at Purdue University wanted not only to honor and memorialize Joel, but to make their recognition permanent. This plaque was created to fulfill that purpose.

When all of this plaque's inscription information was presented to us, it looked overwhelming. However, by properly organizing and arranging it, then designing its appearance to be pleasing and inviting, that first impression of "information overload" vanished. Now, viewers will be drawn in for a closer look, and learn more about Joel and his service to our country. - Gary

I am writing to express my appreciation for a bronze dedication plaque that was recently fabricated and delivered to the University of South Florida. Innovative Signs had provided plaques to USF previously through one of our general contractors, but this was our first instance of dealing with you as a direct customer. We believed our timeline was tough and contacted you around June 10. After some quick work, USF approved the plaque proof on June 13 and issued a PO on June 18 for an anticipated delivery date in late July. The plaque was delivered several weeks earlier than promised on June 27 and looks great!

Since my original contact, my staff and I have been dealing with Lisa Garvin as our sales representative. Lisa has been extraordinary in her level of customer service - responding quickly, with thorough answers, making recommendations, following up, and handling the ordering and billing process from beginning to end (no hand-offs). She was a welcoming, honest and professional representative for your company.

In my position, I deal with many companies who make claims about customer service and commitments to excellence, but few perform as promised. I seldom write letters of appreciation but, in this instance, Innovative Signs exceeded our expectations to such an extent that I believe recognition is truly deserved. I will not hesitate to recommend your company to my peers in higher education or K-12 education. Again, thanks for the great work of your team.

Designer's Notes:

This is pretty straightforward, as city dedication plaques go. However, we always give these plaques as much professional styling as possible. This one prominently displays the district logo at the top, and the double-line border uses two different line widths for a more distinctive look. Also, notice there is an appropriate amount of "white space" present around the inscription so it doesn't overwhelm the plaque. - Gary

Contributing to its professional appearance, this inscription is simple, straightforward, and has a generous amount of unused "white space."

Both the New York and California offices of SRS Capital make striking first impressions with reverse-cast aluminum plaques.

While very similar in appearance to etched plaques, reverse-cast plaques provide deeper recessed areas (with texture), and thicker side returns.

Reverse-casting also exposes much more of the metal's beauty. Overall, it's a bolder appearance, which some companies prefer.

I want you and the Innovative Signs team to know how impressed I am with your organization and your work. My entire experience with your company has been wonderful, from the woman who answered my original questions to my design work with you.

You both know your product well and are very easy to work with. You made me feel that my job was your top priority. I also appreciate how you worked with me to overcome a challenging obstacle in my original design file. As a result of your suggestions, we have two quite good looking plaques to present to our retiring directors at our annual meeting.

In addition, the plaques arrived quickly and were carefully packaged. They are also beautifully crafted. I am confident that both directors will be proud to display them on their walls.

Thank you for your work and your outstanding customer service.

Sincerely,
Karen Murphy

The look of metal isn't just about seeing the actual metallic material. It's also about the shape, the solid and distinctive impression it makes, and how well it stands up over time.

This plaque, for example, is cast in aluminum. However, no aluminum material is actually visible. Instead, it's fully painted (even the rosettes) to match this company's existing graphics.

Still, it makes an impression that no other material can make.
